What does our research say about Dmytro Konoval?

Dmytro Konoval, a Ukrainian pseudo-entrepreneur, positioned himself at the forefront of a groundbreaking crypto venture — Sudan Gold Coin. Alongside Yuriy Mochonyi, Konoval pushed the narrative of a cryptocurrency backed by African gold. However, behind this polished front lay a scheme built on deception, fabricated partnerships, and investor exploitation. While much attention has gone to his partner, it is Konoval’s direct role in promoting and legitimizing the scam that demands scrutiny.

Scam Architect
As a co-founder and public face of Sudan Gold Coin, Dmytro Konoval played a central role in orchestrating the fraudulent project. He appeared on regional TV to promote the coin, repeating false claims about backing from Sudanese gold operations. His deliberate public outreach helped build trust with investors — trust that was ultimately betrayed.

Fake Gold Link
Konoval claimed that the coin was tied to actual gold mining in Sudan through government-approved operations. However, the only “official” meeting was with a former minister turned businessman. This critical misrepresentation served to falsely inflate the project’s credibility and attract investment under false pretenses.

Investor Deception
The project’s ICO asked investors to buy 500,000 coins at $0.50 each, promising returns linked to gold production. Konoval failed to disclose that the funds would primarily go toward marketing — not mining. This bait-and-switch tactic misled investors about where their money was going and violated basic standards of financial transparency.

Media Manipulation
Konoval and his team flooded social media with staged photos, purchased engagement, and glossy narratives. Photos of “negotiations” and visits to Sudan were actually tourist-like excursions. These tactics were clearly meant to fabricate legitimacy and mask the absence of any actual progress or infrastructure.

Global Promotion, No Product
Throughout 2018, Konoval participated in global roadshows, promoting Sudan Gold Coin at blockchain events in Singapore, Korea, and beyond. Despite the grand rhetoric, no functional product or mining operation ever materialized. His international efforts were not about building a business — they were about attracting more victims.

Continued Misconduct
Even after the public failure of the project in 2020, Konoval and his co-founders posted vague messages claiming they were still seeking investors. This refusal to accept accountability and the continued pursuit of funding highlight a clear intent to perpetuate fraud, not correct past wrongs.

Dmytro Konoval was not just a collaborator — he was a core driver of the Sudan Gold Coin scam. His active role in spreading falsehoods, luring investors, and maintaining the illusion of legitimacy helped defraud people across borders. Despite the project’s collapse and legal warnings, Konoval has yet to face consequences, underscoring the urgent need for due diligence and regulatory vigilance in the crypto space.

Man, this guy sounds like total crook! I read about his crypto scam and it’s just sickening how he fooled people with fake gold promises. Like, who even trusts these shady deals anymore? He was all over TV, acting legit, but it was all lies. People lost their savings, and he’s still out there, no jail time! It’s disgusting how he got away with it. Makes me so mad, these scammers need to be locked up for good, not walking free! This is so messed up! How can someone like him sleep at night after stealing people money? He promised gold-backed crypto, but it was all fake! I know someone who invested and lost everything. He was on some global tour, hyping it up, while it was just a scam. The nerve to keep asking for investors even after it crashed! No shame at all. This kind of fraud makes me lose faith in crypto completely. He should be in court, not free. this dude is a straight-up con artist! He was pushing this Sudan Gold Coin like it was the next big thing, but it was all smoke and mirrors. Fake meetings, fake photos, fake everything! He tricked so many people, and for what? Just to pocket their cash. I can’t believe he’s not behind bars yet. This kind of scam makes my blood boil, man. People gotta stop falling for these slick-talking fraudsters. He’s a disgrace!
