Brent Emerson of North Carolina: A Scammer? (2025)

Brent Emerson of North Carolina: A Scammer? (2025)

Brent Emerson, a North Carolina resident who owns a roofing repair company that is currently the target of numerous federal and state authorities’ investigations and hundreds of charges, has already received a term for running a fraudulent business in Arizona. Let’s go over some of the most important facets of his personality before we continue.

Brent Emerson, North Carolina: An Overview

There is some confusion around Brent Emerson’s past, and he goes by several names, such as Brent Emerson North Arizona, Brent Emerson North Carolina, Brent Emerson Arizona, and Brent Emerson Charlotte North Carolina. There has been some interchangeability among these identities.

He may possess knowledge of financial systems that could be abused given his educational history, which includes attending Arizona State University to study computer information systems and business finance. California was the place of his birth. He has attended Arizona State University in the past for his studies.

Claims of Emerson’s involvement in unethical business practices cloud his purported ability in horticulture, development operations, branding and awareness, and scaling businesses.

Emerson also supposedly has experience in horticulture. The morality and legitimacy of some of his acts may come under scrutiny due to his involvement with growing firms. His efforts to promote awareness and brand himself may be met with mistrust given his past deceit and ongoing investigations.

Furthermore, his connection to Development Operations can be viewed as concerning, especially if these operations are associated with unethical or criminal activities. He might be trying to appear more respectable than he actually is, or his apparent interest in gardening could just be a front for other, dubious pursuits.

Investigations & Charges Against Brent Emerson, North Carolina

As a result of several consumer complaints, several state and federal agencies are currently looking into the founder and owner of a roofing repair company in North Carolina called Restoration Contractors of America (RCA).

This situation has led to questions being asked about the company’s business practices. Worse, RCA’s owner, Brent Emerson of North Carolina, was previously convicted of a crime in Arizona for running a fraudulent company.

This makes RCA’s current legal issues three in total. In 2009, the individual received a two-and-a-half-year prison sentence and $2.3 million in restitution for selling counterfeit pharmaceutical websites in the state of Arizona.

Emerson’s business associate Gary Murdie, who is also connected to RCA, was imprisoned for two months and ordered to reimburse $100,000 for his part in the identical scam.

In connection with the same scheme, he was assigned this term. Following the filing of a civil lawsuit against Murdie and Emerson, an injunction was issued prohibiting them from selling business opportunities or marketing services in the state of Arizona, particularly those that required making cold calls.

The WBTV Investigates team was able to acquire information on Murdie and Emerson’s involvement in RCA’s operations from former employees and customers. Even though they have both previously encountered legal issues, this is the case.

Verified by an insurance fraud investigator from the North Carolina Department of Insurance, their agency collaborated with the Environmental Protection Agency and the Internal Revenue Service to carry out a search warrant at the United Atlantic Public Adjusters (UAPA) and RCA offices in Charlotte. It is important to note, however, that the defendant has not yet been the subject of any accusations.

WBTV has looked into over thirty complaints that were filed with the Attorney General’s Office in the state of North Carolina against RCA and UAPA. These accusations concerning the companies’ business operations have sparked concerns.

One of the complainants, Chris Burnett, said that he was the victim of fake signatures on two contracts with RCA that gave the adjuster power of attorney: one for services and the other for public adjusters. Burnett expressed his displeasure with the interaction and vowed never to do business with them again.

In further charges filed with the Attorney General’s office, RCA and UAPA have both been accused of engaging in unlawful activities.

An attorney for Emerson provided WBTV with a taped statement from UAPA’s owner, Eric Goden, outlining his responsibilities to customers. Conversely, other clients, such as Chris Burnett, questioned the sincerity of these discussions.

In exchange for tile and roof work, Burnett, for example, signed the work order and a $1,000 check payable to RCA. However, Burnett wanted to back out of the agreement after discovering that his signature on the original documents had been falsified.

In response to these accusations, an attorney for RCA refuted any prior or current instances of the corporation engaging in counterfeiting. They emphasized in particular how the charges were dispersed throughout the business’s nine-year existence, during which thousands of successful roof repairs were completed. Reiterating that it had not engaged in any unlawful activity, RCA said it was prepared to help investigators with their inquiries should they request it.

Restoration Contractors of America: Brent Emerson North Carolina Company Overview

Regarding the Brent Emerson company in North Carolina, we would state that despite their claims to the contrary, this team of employees—who are regarded as highly skilled and committed—has a lengthy history of working in the restoration industry, which raises some red flags.

They have been in operation for the last 25 years, and during that time they say they have served satisfied customers with roofing, water damage repair, fire damage repair, and flood pump-out services.

Despite this, their long history might also raise questions about the caliber of the services they offer, the presence of perhaps hidden issues, and whether or not they have changed to reflect changes in the industry.

Conclusion

As I previously stated, state and federal agencies are indeed looking into Restoration Contractors of America (RCA) creator and owner Brent Emerson North Carolina because of multiple customer complaints that raise concerns about the company’s business practices.

Currently living in North Carolina, Brent Emerson was previously convicted of fraud in Arizona, giving him a criminal record. Despite their dubious backgrounds, Gary Murdie and Brent Emerson North Carolina continue to control RCA’s operations. A search warrant was executed against the RCA offices as part of an investigation involving multiple law enforcement agencies.

In the state of North Carolina, the Attorney General’s Office has received over thirty claims of fraud. Although RCA disputes these claims and points to their lengthy record of lucrative operations, there is still disagreement surrounding the situation and unanswered legal problems.
